On Sunday, June 26, SHC’s Pride Network, associates, friends and families marched in solidarity alongside thousands of supporters at the 47th Annual Chicago Pride Parade – and boy were we proud. Ridiculously Proud! This year’s float, sponsored by Kmart Apparel, featured a fashion show highlighting our hottest summer apparel and beachwear. The theme, “Be Ridiculously Proud,” rang true throughout the entire parade as associates and allies wore t-shirts to honor the victims of the Pulse nightclub tragedy in Orlando, Florida.
“This year’s pride parade was so important given the tragedy that occurred in Orlando. I’m #RidiculouslyProud to work for a company that stood in solidarity with Orlando. I can’t thank our sponsor, Kmart Apparel, and all the volunteers enough for a successful pride parade. Together we showed the world that #LoveWins.” – Jessica Morse, Pride Chair
Nearly one million people lined the parade route in the Uptown, Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods. Chicago was loud and proud as parade goers cheered on Kmart!
The entire Pride Network extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and donated their time and talent to make our showing in the Chicago Pride parade such a success.
