For the tenth year in a row, Sears Holdings has scored 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2015 Corporate Equality Index. This perfect score is a testament to our commitment to equality through programs that reinforce inclusiveness of all associates and an understanding that diversity is a key business imperative.
Corporate social responsibility is more important today than ever. Consumers want to do business with organizations that understand and honor the issues that are important to them. To have scored 100 percent is a tribute to our continued support of workplace equality and inclusion.
“We are proud of our perfect score on the HRC’s Corporate Equality Index for the tenth straight year. Sears Holdings is open, accepting and appreciative of our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) associates for bringing their authentic selves to work,” said Dean Carter, chief human resources officer for Sears Holdings. Sears Holdings also supports associate networks in the workplace which reinforces the inclusiveness of all associates and customers.
“We leverage the unique differences of our associates to foster a positive and innovative environment that drives business results. Diversity is embedded within our culture and is a reflection of who we are as an organization. As a company that represents a true cross section of America, Sears Holdings gives more to our members no matter who they are or who they love. This is nothing new for Sears Holdings and we are proud to continue the tradition,” Dean added.
