“Para Disfrutar la Vida” (loosely translated means “To maximize the Enjoyment of Life”) was a phrase I heard over and over during my time on the island,” said Mark Villalovos, director of program management, Shop Your Way. “This sums up the lifestyle of time on the Island and is where I feel Shop Your Way and the Member Service Leads team excels.”
I had the pleasure of speaking recently with Mark, who has been overseeing the efforts to re-imagine how Shop Your Way can capture the hearts and minds of our members in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Mark has visited the island five times since the hurricane and has played a large role in the rebuilding, but was quick to point out that his team deserves the spotlight.
“I need to recognize Jim Mesenbring, senior director, offshore island operations as well as José Pagan, Shop Your Way in-market leader.” Mark states proudly, “Both of these gentlemen have exhibited a willingness to implement some of our new and out-of-the box ideas and have motivated and influenced their teams to drive the story of Shop Your Way in Puerto Rico. The entire organization on the island should be praised and I am privileged and proud to be a member of this team.”
In part one of the podcast series, Mark will tell us about what he witnessed in the immediate aftermath and some of the rebuilding efforts.
In part two, we will hear about what is happening currently and plans for the future.
